Today we recorded some scenes for the music video of the contest song ‘Blue Silent Night’. The focus was on Jochen’s guitar and vocal recordings.

[Aug 25th] Vocal recordings with Kolinda Brozovic

Fantastic takes for the contest song: this week, we’ve been recording vocals with singer Kolinda Brozovic (Mousse T., Sascha, etc.) in the HOFA-Studios.

[Apr 27th] Drum recordings with Noah Matteo

The drumming for this year’s HOFA XMAS song was done by our warehouse logistics manager Noah Matteo, who is also a drum teacher and plays in several bands. Song producer and HOFA CEO Jochen Sachse and senior audio engineer Jochen Weyer were in charge of the recordings.
All kinds of microphones were used – from the classic Shure SM57 on the snare to MS room miking with two Flea 12.

  1. Hallo! Was für eine Freude, diesen Titel zu entdecken! Vielen Dank für das vorgezogene Geschenk! Die Aufnahmen sind voller Energie und Konzentration. Großartige Arbeit … wunderschöne Komposition. Danke!

  2. Hello friends, I’m a singer, songwriter, composer, and music producer from Peru (South America), and I’m very happy to participate in the remix and mixing contest. Now I’ll be able to test my talent by comparing my work with that of other international contestants. Congratulations on this initiative, and best regards.

  3. Good morning, I downloaded the multitrack of the song, but I can’t find the hi-hat track in the downloaded files, which I see is included in the drum recording tutorial videos. The hi-hat part is very important in the song. Was it removed intentionally, or is it a mistake? Thanks.

    1. Hey Massimo! Thank you for your comment and well spotted 🙂 The hi-hat is loud enough on the overhead track, so the hi-hat support microphone is not needed for the mix. Consequently, we did not include it in the download folder in order to keep the number of tracks as clear as possible. Have fun mixing and best regards!

  4. Hi everybody.
Good idea, this mixing contest. I will wait the end to listen the other’s music result ..
    best regards
